Researchers at the University of Birmingham are appealing to families of babies with Down’s syndrome to assist them with a study into the possible benefits of vitamin and mineral supplements.

Doctors in Birmingham are looking for Down’s syndrome babies under six months old, in and around the West Midlands area to help with the study.

國際盲人節 (白手杖節)

世界盲人聯盟於1984年，倡議設立世界性盲人節日，並規定每年10月15日為國際盲人節。

國際聾人節

世界聾人聯合會於1957年，倡議設立世界性聾人節日，並規定每年9月最後一個星期日為國際聾人節。

<康復國際> 

Rehabilitation International

於1922年成立，前身為  "國際跛足兒童協會，1972年改名為<康復國際>，共有86個會員國，和27個准會員，它們分屬於77個國家和地區。中國殘疾人聯合會為正式會員。

<智殘人權利宣言>

由國際智殘人聯盟1968年首先發表，智殘人特殊權利宣言，並於1971年，由聯合國採納，定名為 <智殘人權利宣言>。

國際智殘人聯盟

於1960年成立，共有67個會員國和100個會員組織。 International League of Societies for Persons with Mental Handicap

特殊奧運會  (簡稱  特奧會)

是國際間特別為弱智人士運動員舉辦的運動會。中國第三�犮�國特殊奧運會將於９月在西安舉行。 而上海於2002年4月，提出申辦2007年夏季國際<特奧會>。

殘疾人士奧運會 (簡稱 殘奧會)

是緊接�茖C屆奧運會後舉行以殘疾人運動員的世界性運動會，2008年於北京舉行第29屈奧運會後，即舉行第13屈殘奧會。

世界衛生組織，為從事殘疾評估工作的學者、醫務人士、康復工作者，提供評核殘疾研究的分類，   World Health Organization, International Classification of Functioning, Disability & Health (ICF)

國際復康日 (International Rehabilitation Day)
